Cyber threats, privacy laws and well known regulations such as Sarbanes – Oxley (SOX) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) have resulted in data access and protection becoming a top-priority issue. Government and Private Organisations are concerned with finding ways and means to secure their data by proactively monitoring activity on the network and inside the databases of the organization or government. In this context, SILNAM had invited Mr Nilesh Jankee, Oracle Senior Pre-Sales Consultant for East Africa and the SADC regions to run a series of workshops and presentations on Oracle Security solutions in Windhoek during the week of 14th April 2014. The workshops were attended by Government officials responsible to data security and Security Experts from Banking Institutions of Namibia. The workshops were very informative and interactive with focus around Audit Vault, Database Vault, Data Masking, Identity Management and High Availability among others. All attendees expressed keen interest to engage further to implement Security Solutions for their institutions.
